Latency Test

Test network latency to any website. Sends 3 HTTP probes for average response time.

Network latency measures the time data takes to travel from your device to a server and back. Our latency test sends three HTTP HEAD requests and calculates minimum, average, and maximum response times.

Players in one region report lag while others are fine. Test the game server from our edge nodes: if latency is high for one network path, the problem is routing, not the game — data that changes the conversation from "fix your server" to "talk to your transit provider".

Frequently Asked Questions

How is latency measured?

We send 3 HTTP HEAD requests and calculate average response time.

How do I test latency to a server online?

Enter the host and run the test — it sends requests from a Cloudflare edge location and reports response time in milliseconds. This measures server-side reachability and speed, independent of your own internet connection.

What latency is good for gaming?

Under 30 ms is excellent, 30-60 ms is fine for most games, and above 100 ms starts to feel laggy in fast-paced titles. Remember our tool measures from the edge server — your local latency to the game server may differ.

Why does latency vary between tests?

Routing changes, server load, and network congestion all change response time from second to second. Run the test 3-5 times and look at the typical value rather than a single reading.
